Expectations are high for Lucas Entertainment's Gigolo, as Michael Lucas' major release for 2007.Last year's major release from Lucas, Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita, won 14 GayVN awards (by my count.) Can Gigolo repeat this success (hopefully without spurring a copyright/trademark infringement lawsuit)? Let's watch!
Gigolo begins as many of Michael Lucas' features do, with a moody sequence setting the scene as the streets of New York, in this case the darkened streets. The movie stars many of Lucas' stable of East Coast repeat performers—in fact, almost all of them, like Erik Grant, Jimmy Trips, Zack Randall, Jason Ridge, Ray Star, J., Arpad Miklos, and of course, Michael Lucas himself.
The action begins with a scene some of Lucas' critics might like to see—Michael Lucas dead! (The infamous publicity shot that was released in the immediate aftermath of several porn star deaths.) Cops are investigating a murder, but to find out how we got here, we must go back in time and watch Jason Ridge give Michael Lucas' huge dick a very much alive blowing. Lucas is looking very ripped (as are many of his other players; Lucas must force them to spend extra hours at the gym and eat macrobiotically or something), and the scene is lit and photographed very well. Now the question is, who is the customer, and who is the Gigolo? Lucas ends up pounding the very versatile Ridge in what looks like a highly enjoyable scene for both men, and probably is, since it's been played out before in other movies. Jason cums a very intense load while Lucas fucks the shit out of him (not literally).
After the sex, Lucas explains that he began escorting again after a long absence because he needed the money. Ridge pays him $300 and Lucas is off into to the night. Personally, I don't think Jason Ridge needs to pay for sex (quite the opposite) but I guess this is the movies so we need to suspend our disbelief.
Next we see a male whorehouse, where an abusive, and rather annoying pimp, Ray Star, is ordering his escorts to make more money. Apparently they have been accepting blowjobs and rimjobs, not full-on fucking, and fucking is what really brings in the cash. Who knew?
Plot complication: the real reason Lucas is escorting to to keep up the bills since his rich lover has recently died. Will he be able to do it, or will the many messages on his answering machine from bill collectors mean he will be evicted from his luxe home, and have his BMW repossessed? I hope so, I would hate to see Lucas (his name is Louis in the movie) go from rags-to-riches-to-rags. That's not fun.
The next scene involves a male escort, Lars Svenson, a lean, blond, tattooed, Aryan Power type sent out by the Agency to have sex with plain-looking Jason Sparks. Lars demands that Sparks "lick his foreskin clean." Due to unfortunate lighting, we cannot see Lars' dick during these long moments. On the plus side, Lars is hot! He wears a black jock strap and shiny black boots for those who are into that. This scene focused too much on body smells and licking feet and so on for my taste, but those who are into kink will eat it up (or sniff it up, as the case may be.)

Next, Michael Lucas is in his apartment when the rent comes due. A gamy-looking man with a ponytail comes for the rent; Lucas gives him a partial payment, but in a surprise fakeout (considering this is a gay porn), does not have sex with him to pay the rest! Instead, Lucas decides to sell one of Spencer Quest's paintings. (Quest is Lucas' deceased lover.)
Next we are back with J., who is with his pimp, Ray Star, trying to hustle up some business in a nightclub. As an aside, I have to mention that the story here flows really well. The editing is well done, the pacing is good, and the script is excellent as well. Even the acting is not sub-par. Bravo!

J. and Ray Star pick up twinky, big-dicked stud Zack Randall at the club, and bring him home to test out as a possible hooker. J. is looking a little older (late 30's maybe) than in previous Lucas films, but I like it. J. starts out by sucking Zack's big dick while Star shoves his own in Zack's mouth. Zack sucks it pretty eagerly. As in previous scenes, the guys here are energetic, suggesting they are enjoying themselves. Highlight: J. sits on Zack's face while sucking Star's dick. Another highlight: J. on his stomach, sucking Star's dick (who is kneeling), with Zack laying on top of J., fucking him. Zack's torso is getting ripped, and the cumshots in this scene are hot.
Meanwhile, Michael Lucas, the Gigolo, who still wears a wedding ring on his left hand, is flashing back to a lusty scene with Spencer Quest in the bathtub. Will they go all the way? The fleshback (Freudian slip!) is jarringly interrupted by a restaurant scene in which Ray Star tells Lucas that he will stab him if Lucas does not give him a share of his Gigolo-ing profits.
The next scene starts out by showing us that Ben Andrews has a really thick dick. We knew that, but still: it is big. Blond muscle dad Scott Tanner and smooth youngster Kurt Wild take turns sucking it. Ben's balls hang unevenly but you hardly notice. There is a "docking" sequence. (Those readers who do not know what docking is are probably not that into uncut guys, anyway.) Toe and feet sucking occur, and Kurt attempts some double-dick-sucking. (That never seems to work very well, does it.)

The other guys take turns fucking Kurt, first Ben, who stretches him out, then Scott, who finishes him off. This is probably the hottest part of the encounter, particularly watching Ben's brick-like dick going in, and Kurt's intense sum sequence while getting fucked by Tanner. Epilogue: Ben charges $500 for a three-way, da-am!
The next scene is between bearish businessman Arpad Miklos and boy-prostitute Zack Randall on his first paying gig. Zack seems delighted with the quite-a-bit-older Arpad, or maybe he's just acting, like a good prostitute should. But probably not, he seems to enjoy swallowing Arpad's long dick a little too much. Not to mention bouncing on it. Zack is sweaty and quite worn out by the time they are done. Close-ups of Zack's twitching rosebud with lube slithering down it give the scene the feeling of a bareback film (without the bareback, of course).
The Director's Edition of Gigolo contains bonus watersports scenes featuring Arpad Miklos & Zack Randall, Lars Svenson & Jason Sparks, and Ray Star, J. & Zack Randall. It also contains a bonus sex scene with Erik Grant, Jimmy Trips, and Anthony Marks, a bonus video (Behind the Scenes of "Gigolo"), and other stuff.

The movie ends with an intriguing, Kafkaesque murder plot. It actually made Gigolo seem like a "real" movie! I must give props to Michael Lucas (co-director) and Tony DiMarco (co-director/screenwriter), Gigolo is very well done, particularly the storytelling, and Lucas' acting is also quite good, especially considering he has quite a few scenes by himself, talking into phones, talking to bill collectors, and so on. Lucas really puts a lot of work into his big releases, and it shows. I could see this one sweeping the 2008 GayVN's!
