A new book charges that James Dean supported himself through same-sex prostitution—and was also something of a pedophile!According to Globe Magazine, Dean "offered gay sex to get through lean times before his meteoric flash of stardom."
And once he was a star, he kept on offering it: authors Darwin Porter and Danforth Price, in their forthcoming book Hollywood Babylon: It's Back, say that Dean had a long-term affair with a boy that began when the boy was only 12 years old!
Porter claims he tracked down the now-adult man, who is in his 70s. I guess you will have to read the book for more on that scandal. Maybe the man will make an appearance on The Insider when the book comes out and tell us more.
Bonus scandal: before her I Love Lucy days, Lucille Ball "survived by selling her body" and "relied on stage door Johnnies to feed her in exchange for sex."

Jim Carrey Believably GayIn slightly more wholesome news, conceived in the bowels of a movie studio's publicity department no doubt, Jim Carrey has been cruising gay bars, clubs and other gay male hangouts in preparation for his role as a con artist who falls in love with his prison cell mate, Ewan McGregor, in the forthcoming movie I Love You Phillip Morris.
Based on a true story, the movie involves Jim breaking out of prison several times to be with Ewan. It has been pitched as Catch Me If You Can meets Brokeback Mountain (groan).
The National Enquirer reports, in gossip columnist Mike Walker's annoying fashion, "Jim struck girly-man gold when he attended a glitzy gay wedding in Miami Beach. Dressed like 'Mary Carey' in super-tight white pants, form-hugging black shirt and dangling gold chains, the star danced up a storm with male guests—until one guy cornered him and breathed huskily: 'Okay, I get it! The whole Jenny McCarthy this is fake... she's just your beard, right?' Then he asked Jim for a DATE! Stunned—but thrilled he'd faked out a member of the other team—Jim explained that Jenny really is his girlfriend, and he was just seeing if he could play a convincing gay man for his new movie. Disappointed, the guy shook his head and said: 'Well... you sure had me fooled!'"
Anyway, back to that part of Jim Carrey having Ewan McGregor for a cell mate: hot!
